In 2024, Nadrasca, a disability support organisation in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs, saw a notable rise in employee engagement and alignment, achieving a 6% improvement in engagement and a 5% increase in alignment. By implementing Insync’s Alignment & Engagement Survey, Nadrasca has nearly reached the top quartile of Insync’s not-for-profit benchmark. This achievement highlights the results of a structured, intentional focus on reshaping organisational culture.
To drive these improvements, Nadrasca introduced a range of initiatives, including the “Be Kind” behavioural pillar, which encouraged leaders and employees alike to pause, show empathy and create a culture of care and respect. This principle set the foundation for a transformative approach, allowing leaders and staff to collaborate openly and foster trust.
Nadrasca also established a baseline measure of employee experience to clearly understand the organisation’s culture. By addressing areas that needed attention, such as recognition and support for staff, Nadrasca’s leadership put together a six-month work plan that included energising employees around a refreshed organisational vision, restructuring leadership roles to better serve their teams and investing in a mindset of continuous improvement.
A key component of Nadrasca’s approach was its emphasis on “Project My Say,” an initiative aimed at truly understanding the needs of service participants. Through participant focus groups and annual feedback sessions, Nadrasca has committed to centering decision-making around those they serve, building a culture that respects and values both employees and participants.
