Voice of the Patient FAQ

1. Can I use the survey for practice accreditation?

Yes. The survey has been endorsed by the RACGP’s Standards Committee as meeting all of their criteria for practice accreditation.

2. How many surveys do we need to complete for the purpose of accreditation?

You need to complete 30 surveys per full-time equivalent (FTE) GP.

For example, a practice with 3 FTE will need to complete 90 surveys.

3. How do I work out our practice’s FTE?

FTE = total number of hours worked per week by GPs in your practice, divided by 37 – then round this up to the nearest whole number.

For example, you have GPs in your practice working a total of 94 hours. 94/37 = 2.5 (round 2.5 up to 3). Your practice’s FTE for the purpose of the patient survey is 3.

4. How long will the process take?

The amount of time a practice takes to complete the required number of surveys varies depending on the number of surveys they need to complete, and the amount of urgency they place on the process.

Insync guarantee a maximum two week turn-around on the delivery of results to you, once we receive the completed paper surveys.

5. Will the report be enough for accreditation purposes?

Yes. The online report will be sufficient to demonstrate that you have completed the survey which has been endorsed by the RACGP’s Standards Committee as meeting all of their criteria for practice accreditation.

Practices are reminded that accreditation requires more than just completing a patient feedback survey. Practices are required to show that they have reviewed the results of the survey and describe an improvement that they have made as a result.
